In the roomLying down, breathing slowly, and letting the body do the work.

Does any of this sound familiar?

You do not need to tick every one.

  • Tired in a way that sleep does not fix.
  • Braced, even in a quiet room.
  • You know you should slow down, and you cannot.
  • Your shoulders sit near your ears and you only notice at night.
  • Rest feels unfamiliar, or slightly unsafe.

None of this means something is wrong with you. Most people who land here are not falling apart. They are coping, and their nervous system learned to stay ready. It can learn something different, and these resources are a gentle way to start.

What is actually going on

Safety comes first. Change follows.

Your nervous system is not something to fix. It is a protection system, and it responds to what it has learned. When it senses threat, it prepares you to act. When it senses safety, it lets you rest, digest, think clearly and connect.

You cannot think or force your way into safety. The body learns it through small, repeated, felt experiences, and you can create those yourself. That is what these resources are for.

Try one slow breath

In through the nose for 4. Out slowly for 6. Five rounds, about a minute.

Ready when you areSit or stand comfortably

If anything feels uncomfortable, stop and breathe the way you normally do.

When you are on guard

  • Shallow, quick breathing
  • Tight jaw, neck and shoulders
  • Racing or flat, hard to focus
  • Sleep that does not restore

When you are settled

  • Slower, fuller breath
  • Softer muscles
  • Clearer thinking
  • Easier to rest

Who is behind this

Hi, I am Cat.

I am a remedial massage therapist and breathwork facilitator based in Proston, Queensland. My work is hands-on bodywork and guided breathwork, and all of it starts from the same place: a body that does not feel safe cannot let go, no matter how hard it tries.

I also work in a school as a teacher aide, and my training in trauma-informed practice has shaped how I work with everyone. Nobody regulates well until they feel safe first.

I give you things to do at home on purpose. I would rather you leave with tools than feel you need me. If you do choose to come back, I want it to be because you want to.

Words I hear most after a session

My shoulders finally dropped.
I can breathe again.
I forgot what it felt like to just be.

Start with one small thing.

A single breath, a one-page guide, or five minutes of honest reflection. Whatever you pick, it is yours to keep.
